{"id":338,"date":"2020-07-29T20:17:54","date_gmt":"2020-07-29T20:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwdpt-research.rehab.washington.edu\/agresta-sportscience\/?page_id=338"},"modified":"2023-06-22T14:56:40","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T14:56:40","slug":"equipment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uwdpt-research.rehab.washington.edu\/agresta-sportscience\/equipment\/","title":{"rendered":"Equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We capture out-of-lab data whenever and wherever possible.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, we hold physical lab space within the\u00a0<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/amplify\/\" target=\"_blank\">Amplifying Movement and Performance (AMP) Laboratory<\/a><\/strong>, which is a 5,500 sq-ft space equipped with two instrumented treadmills, a 6-m walkway embedded with 4 continuous force plates, and a 2.5- m trench for testing movement over various substrates.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MOTION CAPTURE<\/h2>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apdm.com\/wearable-sensors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">APDM inertial sensors<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>15 sensors set (Opal, 2-in x 2-in) equipped with acceleration (\u00b1 16g, \u00b1 200g), gyroscope (\u00b1 2000 deg\/s), and magnetometer (\u00b1 Gauss) capabilities. Sensors can stream or log data in free-living environments up to 16-hours. Sensors are sync to each other, other systems, and can capture data at up to 800 Hz.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qualisys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Qualisys motion capture system<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>10-camera Oqus motion capture system (8 Oqus 300 cameras, 2 Oqus 700 wide angle cameras). Data capture maximum is 500 Hz. Current capture volume is approximately 6 m L x 3.5 m W x 2.5 m H; additional capture length and height available through additional cameras. Measurement error is &gt; 2 mm when calibrated for appropriate motion capture volumes. A Second motion capture system (Vicon) system to be installed shortly.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FORCE CAPTURE<\/h2>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.noraxon.com\/our-products\/kintread-pressure-treadmill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Noraxon KinTREAD pressure treadmill<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Treadmill features 10,270 pressure cells and can capture up to 300 Hz. Vertical ground reaction force is calculated from pressure data. Capable of speed up to 25 km\/hr (0.1 increments) and 28% incline. Also have reverse belt capability.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kistler.com\/en\/product\/type-9253b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kistler multicomponent force plates<\/a><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Four embedded force plates are located in the center of the motion analysis capture volume in the large motion capture space, including 3&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kistler.com\/en\/product\/type-9260aa\/\">Kistler 9260AA6 plates<\/a>&nbsp;(60\u00d750 cm) and 1&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kistler.com\/en\/product\/type-9286b\/\">Kistler 9286BA plate<\/a>&nbsp;(60\u00d740 cm). Each multicomponent force plate provides ground reaction forces, moments, and center of pressure data for gait and balance analysis.
